Chief Operating Engineer, Cushman & Wakefield
Shawn is constantly swooping in to save the day! No project is too big or too small for him to take ownership of. His attention to detail always makes the decision-making process easy for me, my tenants, and my clients.
Even with extremely demanding tenants, Shawn balances the needs of the tenants and the budgetary constraints that I outline seamlessly. Whether it is a water source heat pump that is out-of-service in the executive area of a major tenant, that can only be serviced in “off-hours””; a paving project that displaces over 100 cars for a fortune 500 tenant; or finding a way to get rid of that “weird food smell”” that only the CEO can smell; Shawn always remains positive and finds the answer.
While he doesn’t get near the credit that he deserves, Shawn is always a hero at the buildings that I manage. In addition to his work ethic and abilities, he handles every tenant interaction perfectly, ensuring that the tenants know that we, as the management company, are there for them.
Every manager should be so lucky to have a Maintenance Hero like Shawn, who always has their back (even when it means late nights and very early mornings) and makes them, and the client, look incredible.
Interesting fact about finalist:
I enjoy rock climbing, repelling, and camping. I spend so much time in buildings that I very much enjoy primitive camping (especially out of cell phone range) when-ever I can.
What they love most about their job:
I like that every day brings a new challenge. I enjoy working towards a common goal that’s in the best interest of all parties. I enjoy making people happy.
The piece of work technology do they depend on most:
My smart phone. In addition to supervising my direct reports and communicating with vendors, I’m able to access BAS systems, work order and PM platforms remotely. I can’t even fathom how technicians did this job with out them in the past.
